Shine Ue School primary education curriculum is designed for students of ages 6-11 in line with the National Curriculum. During 5 years of primary education, students not only master their mother language but also are able to reach a lower-intermediate level of using English in their day-to-day lives.

Arts program develops students’ artistic sense of listening and playing music, understanding fine arts, expressing themselves through music and art.

Our athletic program motivates students to lead a healthy and strong life while developing them to be fast, resilient, balanced, and flexible.


EXTRA-CURRICULAR PROGRAMS

Various extra-curricular programs, lessons, and clubs are available to join for all students. We also provide after-school tutoring classes for all subjects free of charge for students who are falling behind.


LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

All core subjects except computer classes are held in their own primary classrooms designed for primary students. Computer classes are held in a primary computer lab; music lessons are held in an auditorium; physical education lessons for grades 1-3 are held in a primary gym, for grades 4-5 are held in a secondary gym. Primary students also have a library hour once per week at the school library.

Shine Ue School middle school education curriculum continues for 4 years covering students of ages 11-16. This period is the most important time for the formation of one’s character and personal development. Teachers put strong significance on real-life experiences and practical work in order to develop critical-thinking and ability to see from various perspectives. Students work extensively in developing teamwork, independent problem-solving, and reflecting on their own actions.

DEVELOPMENT SUBJECTS

Based on the skills and knowledge learned during primary education, middle school arts program continues developing students’ artistic sense. Music lessons put more emphasis on traditional and modern musical styles. Students are introduced to listening to Mongolian traditional music and modern music, studying and analyzing them, communicating and sharing their feelings about the music with their classmates.

Our middle school athletic program focuses on the acquisition of simple techniques for developing students physically and monitoring their development independently. Most popular team sports techniques and tactics are introduced during these years. Students continue practicing teamwork, build confidence, help others, and learn to participate in games with integrity while keeping safety for other participants.


EXTRA-CURRICULAR PROGRAMS

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Middle school students have a total of 16 different subjects, both in Mongolian and English. Some teachers meet students once or twice per week, therefore, we schedule students in the subject-specific classrooms and laboratories in order to make the classroom experience the most fruitful and long-lasting. 70% of the total annual number of teaching hours is devoted for covering theories, and 30% is dedicated to practical work and experiments. Classrooms and laboratories are equipped with subject-specific supplies and tools to hold necessary experiments and practical work while ensuring the safety of students.

Shine Ue School high school education curriculum continues for 3 years covering students of ages 16-18. During this period, students are faced with the most important decision to choose their future career path and prepare for entering a college (university) of their choice. University counseling is offered, if needed, and all our subject teachers are available to provide additional support.

Our school has been authorized to offer IB Diploma Programme starting from October 14, 2018. Students who fulfill the requirements of the IBDP will be awarded two certifications at the graduation (National General Education Certificate and IB Diploma). Even students who are not planning on going abroad benefit from this program because students are exposed to an extensive amount of academic writing and research which prepares them for any type of undergraduate study.

DEVELOPMENT SUBJECTS

High school arts program develops students in perfecting their artistic sense by expressing it creatively with their own personalization. Visual arts program targets students interests and future career paths and introduces students who want to become engineers to technical drawings. Performing arts subject becomes an elective at the high school but, in order to continue students’ education in art, we organize school-wide performing arts competition and the best performances are selected for the “Talent Concert” held at the Children’s Palace.

Our high school athletic program allows students to develop in the sports based on their interest and skills, perfect their techniques and tactics in that sport. Students continue practicing teamwork, build confidence, help others, and learn to participate in games with integrity while keeping safety for other participants.
